Maintaining and growing a healthy marriage relationship is difficult in today’s environment as husbands and wives are pulled in so many directions by their jobs and responsibilities. Marriage counselors emphasize that relationships require work and intentionality to be wholesome and lasting.

I recently watched a movie entitled, “Fireproof Your Marriage”, that illustrated in a real life setting the principles that strengthen the husband-wife relationship. In the movie, Captain Caleb Holt as a firefighter lived by the principle: “Never Leave Your Partner Behind”. Yet, he was about to leave his marriage and his wife as his relationship with his wife was crumbling. Caleb’s father sent him a book, “The Love Dare”, with the challenge to follow it for forty days. Over the forty days, Caleb learns through his personal experience the principles that will save his marriage and set he and his wife on a life-long journey of love and devotion.

This movie has a message that will help all married couples, whether their relationship is thriving, merely existing, or crumbling.
